Author or co-author of 20 books including the highly
acclaimed, The Cure of Addiction, Dr. R. Winn Henderson founded
The Recovery Group as a natural progression in his personal war on
dependencies of all types and to better provide assistance and
counseling to as many as possible. Through The Recovery Group, the
doctor counsels individual patients and groups, conducts seminars,
and appears on national talk shows.
Dr. Henderson was formerly the director of an acute medical care
clinic, has served as an emergency physician at major medical centers
and as a medical examiner for the Federal Aviation Administration. The
Doctor served with the United States Air Force as Flight Surgeon
and Chief of Aerospace Medicine achieving the rank of Major.
Dr. Henderson received certification from the American Board of Family
Practice in 1977, and from the American Board of Emergency Medicine in
1984. Dr. Henderson is a charter member of various professional
Associations, including the American Association of Christian
Counselors.
The doctor has hosted an international radio talk show: Share
Your Mission since 1998. The program seeks to give insight
into the 3rd spiritual question (from his book The Four
Questions) What am I doing here? Or putting it
another way, What is the purpose for my creation?
Dr. Henderson has a spiritual retreat (B&B) in the mountains of
Western North Carolina. Individuals can explore their reason for
creation in a rustic serene setting.
The doctor, who is now retired from active practice has a special interest
in Psychoneuroimmunology. Dr. Henderson spends most of his
professional time speaking, conducting seminars and counseling clients
with addictive problems.
He is currently researching a possible PNI link in the disease process
of psoriasis and has been awarded a US patent for a psoriasis
treatment which cures 82% of psoriatic lesions with one visit to a
doctor's office. This treatment appears to be the most effective
medical treatment in the world to date for plaque like psoriasis.
Dr. Henderson's Recovery Group has established
that a common cause exists for all addictions, and that these
compulsive over attachments can be successfully treated with a common
plan. This plan has been carefully developed through years of
successful hands-on medical experience working with diverse groups of
patients with a variety of addictions. It is this success and Dr.
Henderson's personal desire to help end the pain and suffering that
comes from harmful dependencies that led to the highly-acclaimed
books, The Cure of Addiction and The Four
Questions.
These books clearly, and in layman's terms, define
and identify the various addictions and provide step-by-step a
complete treatment and recovery program along with case studies of
successfully-treated former addicts.
Additionally, through The Recovery Group, Dr. Henderson volunteers his
time and energy to appear on talk shows across the country. Private
and group counseling. Business and public seminars are
also provided by The Recovery Group in Sylva, N.C. or on location.
Business and corporate seminars are directed at increasing
productivity by identifying and treating addictions affecting the
workplace.
All counseling programs offered are strictly tailored to each
individual patient's needs with one singular goal - the cure of
addiction. The Recovery Group sponsors The Destiny House, which is a
spiritual bed and breakfast in the mountains of Western North
Carolina.
